It is amazing how kids brains work. We often forget that they don’t think the same way we do. This concept was pushed home recently. It was after AJ’s birthday and there was still some cake left over. We had been storing it in the refrigerator but on this particular night we forgot to put it up. It was left in the original plastic container from the store where it was purchased. I didn’t think much about it at the time. The next morning when we woke up, we noticed that the cake was still on the counter in the plastic container but something wasn’t right. It took us a few seconds to realize the problem. All of the icing was missing! The girls (all three of them admitted it in the end) had gotten up in the middle of the night and eaten all of the icing off of the cake. They put the top back on the container as though nothing had happened and went back to bed. You have to wonder, did they really think we wouldn’t notice? I mean, ALL of the icing was gone. How do they think that the parents are not going to notice that the cake no longer has icing?
Cake? What Cake?
